Grant Writing & Nonprofit Consulting Services
Strong funding proposals begin long before the writing starts.
Successful grant development brings opportunity selection, organizational readiness, credible evidence, strategy, and persuasive communication into alignment. I work collaboratively with nonprofit leaders to make those elements support one another.
Whether your organization needs grant research services, foundation or corporate proposal writing, a grant-readiness assessment, proposal review and editing, stronger funding strategy, or more effective donor communications, services can be tailored to your scope and needs.
As a remote nonprofit grant writer and consultant, I work with faith-based ministries and human-services nonprofit organizations throughout the United States. This includes ministries, churches with charitable programs, mental health and behavioral health organizations, and community-based nonprofits whose work addresses complex human needs and helps people move forward.
For faith-based clients, I take the time to understand the ministry's beliefs, calling, language, and service model so its identity remains clear and authentic while the funding request is carefully aligned with each funder's requirements.
01
Grant Research & Funding Strategy
Not every grant opportunity is the right opportunity. Careful research can help an organization focus its limited time and resources on funders whose priorities genuinely align with its mission and programs.
Services may include:
- Researching foundation, corporate, and other grant opportunities
- Evaluating eligibility and funder alignment
- Reviewing funding priorities and giving interests
- Identifying promising opportunities and deadlines
- Researching community needs and relevant supporting data
- Reviewing funder giving history when available
- Helping prioritize opportunities worth pursuing
- Assisting with funding-request strategy
- Developing recommendations for future funding efforts
The goal is not simply to find more grants. It is to identify opportunities where your organization has a credible and compelling case for support.
02
Grant Proposal Writing & Development
A strong grant proposal must do more than answer application questions. It must help a funder understand the need, see the value of the proposed work, trust the organization's ability to carry it out, and recognize the potential impact of its investment. In human-services proposals, needs statements, program descriptions, impact narratives, and outcomes must represent both the challenges people face and the meaningful changes effective services can help them achieve.
Services may include:
- Letters of inquiry and letters of intent
- Foundation and corporate grant proposals
- Grant applications
- Needs statements and supporting research
- Program descriptions
- Goals, objectives, outcomes, and evaluation language
- Research and integration of relevant statistics and supporting evidence
- Organizational and program narratives
- Budget narrative review and alignment
- Editing and refinement of existing proposal materials
- Review of supporting documentation
- Online application preparation
- Final proposal review
- Submission management when permitted by the funder and authorized by the organization
For larger proposals, I work closely with organizational leadership to understand the program, gather the information needed, identify gaps, and develop a cohesive case for funding.
03
Donor Communications
Donors want to understand not only what an organization does, but why the work matters and what their support makes possible. Thoughtful donor communications present that message clearly, respectfully, and in a way that remains centered on the mission.
Services may include:
- Donor appeal letters
- Fundraising campaign messaging
- Impact and success stories
- Donor stewardship communications
- Thank-you and appreciation letters
- Program and mission messaging
- Year-end and special campaign communications
- Editing and strengthening existing donor materials
Effective donor communication should do more than ask for money. It should help build an ongoing relationship between the donor and the mission they have chosen to support.
04
Grant Readiness & Nonprofit Consulting
Sometimes an organization needs more than a finished document. It needs an experienced nonprofit grant consultant who can identify information gaps, ask focused questions, clarify priorities, and strengthen how the organization presents its work.
Services may include:
- Grant-readiness assessment
- Funding and proposal strategy
- Program positioning for prospective funders
- Organizational and program messaging
- Review and strengthening of existing proposals
- Identifying information or documentation gaps
- Research support
- Development of a stronger case for support
- Clarifying program outcomes and evaluation language
- Consultation with leadership throughout the grant-development process
- Grant-report narrative and impact communication support
My role is collaborative. I ask questions, research carefully, identify strengths and gaps, and help nonprofit leaders translate the work they know so well into language that funders and donors can readily understand.

My Process
Understanding comes before writing.

I approach grant development as a process rather than simply a writing assignment.
I want to understand not only what an organization does, but the human need behind the program, the people whose lives are affected, the outcomes the organization seeks, and how its work makes a positive difference in people's lives and helps them move forward.
That deep understanding, combined with careful research and persuasive communication, helps shape a proposal that is both evidence-based and genuinely connected to the mission.
